We are a community of fibre enthusiasts drawing members from the Wellington County area.

The guild hosts presentations on weaving and spinning topics from September to June each year. We have both in-person and Zoom meetings at least once per month with two meetings in October, November, April, and May. These are evening meetings on the 2nd Wednesday and additional ones on the 4th Wednesday of the month.

In September, December and June we have joint meetings, usually in person, to say hello, celebrate the season, and say goodbye.

Several study groups focused on weaving, spinning, knitting, and dyeing also meet monthly, usually via Zoom.

We have an extensive library, tools and equipment
available for rent.

The Guild hosts Fall Fibres, an annual show and sale of the work of its members, the first weekend of November at the Wellington County Museum and Archives.

Yearly membership dues are $80. You are welcome to come to a meeting or two as a guest. Please let us know if you plan to attend.

Our in person meetings are held at
Kortright Presbyterian Church
55 Devere Drive, Guelph Ontario N1G 2T3

South American Textiles
Sally Gray

Bio: Sally Gray is a textile artist in Kitchener. She learned how to knit, sew, and embroider at a young age from her mother. She picked up quilting, spinning, and weaving about 20 years ago, and her most recent obsession is bobbin lace. She fell in love with the tapestry art of Maximo Laura after a trip to Peru and has gone back twice to study from him.

Description: Sally's presentation will explore some of the textiles she saw in Peru, along with pieces she brought home with her. She also will talk about the workshops, the techniques learned, and will bring samples she wove using Maximo's techniques.
